Summer Is Flyin' By!

July 26, 2007

While I don't have any new photos, I thought I would jot down a few words! Summer seems to be flying by at warp speed. The girls are having fun being outside as much as possible and Scott & I are just trying to stay cool in the sweltering heat.
The girls are becoming more and more "sisterly" fighting over any number of items as of late- The hottest commodity in our house seems to be the prized Dora fork. If Natalie "calls" it Josie runs/sprints to the kitchen to snatch it out of the drawer first. Ah the drama. Tears, yelling and tantrums, all over a fork. I can't wait to see what they do about clothes and curling irons in 10 years!
Scott and I have been working in the back - back yard quite a bit lately. He has started to work on the shed and I have been cleaning out more of the wooded area. My vision is to have a tranquil little area back there, it might take me a couple years, but I have my eye on the prize! I will take some photos and get them posted.

Chop Chop Chop-

July 15, 2007

I took the girls for haircuts on Thursday and it was pretty exciting. As most of you know, Josie's hair was rather long ( see photo) so this was a big deal to decide to chop it all off. I was having moderate amounts of guilt associated with making such a huge decision for her. However, I know her hair will grow back. She really did a great job sitting still and she hardly talked at all. She was rather shy about the whole thing. While Josie was getting her hair cut, Natalie set about rearranging all of the nail polish on the shelf-
Natalie also did a good job while getting her hair cut, however, she hated the cover-up Bonnie put on her, and was busy moving her head all over. Despite her activity, I think Bonnie did a great job keeping the cut even- (you should have seen Natalie's head moving!)
Both girls also got their nails painted and little decals put on. Very fancy!

A Day At the Como Zoo-

July 12, 2007

Here we are again! We 3 girls took at trip to the Como Zoo today. It was a perfect day to be outside, and we had a lot of fun!
Natalie still loves fish and she wanted to stay put at every little (or big) aquarium that we came upon. There were fish that seemed as big as her, and she thought it was a lot of fun to stand and stare at them. She was completely mesmerized by them as they swam around. Josie was easily bored with the fish and wanted to keep moving along. They have a couple of really nice fish tanks there with tropical fish also.
We wandered around outside and came upon the sea lion tank and Josie thought it was lots of fun to try to find them swimming under water. She would scream "WOW!" When they would pop their heads up above the water. The flamingos were also a big hit, as they were napping while standing up on one leg.
Unfortunately, Josie spied the rides from about 3 miles away and said "ARE THOSE RIDES????" Oh boy does she love rides. So I tried to keep her content wandering through other animal areas, but she just kept asking about the rides!
We saw a polar bear just like the same as the polar bear in Natalie's favorite book, so we hung out with him for awhile too.
The girls talked my into ice cream, and well, almost all of it ended up in the garbage, I will know better next time, right?
We finally hit the rides! The girls went on all the rides together and while you cannot see it from the photos, they did have a really fun time. Josie was laughing and squealing, while Natalie was more subdued and halfway worried. Either way they seemed to have a fun time there.
All in all we had a fun time wandering around. We had a picnic lunch and headed home. I got all turned around and we did a few U-Turns, but we made home.
The girls are going in for haircuts tonight, check back for more photos!!

July 5, 2007

Here are the girls on the 4th of July-
Natalie is all about helping to water things! "I wawa!!!!" So her dad is helping to fill the watering can that will be immediately dumped out! She has a great time. Full of mischief too! Scott told her to say "CHEESE" for her photos, and she actually did, which is hilarious to me. (I'm easily amused)

Josie in contrast and turns away from the camera and pouts. Somehow we tricked her into flashing that pretty smile.

Our 4th was spent staining the front porch. Scott scrubbed it last weekend and we spent a long day in the heat getting it stained. It looks great and I hope to get photos up this week.
