Impromptu Trip to the "Kids Museum"

May 29, 2008

Friends! The girls look so big in this photo. I cannot imagine how many more pictures we will have like this in the years to come!
A quartet of trouble! The kids were full of energy while we rain through the "Kids Museum" (as Josie calls it. Josie really wanted to hit the Children's Museum. She started negotiating on Monday after daycare. I explained that I had tons of homework to do, but we would go later in the week when things calmed down. She was not too happy about that answer. The next morning negotiations resumed and at 7:15 she says "Mommy, how about we go to the kids museum, and during nap time I will be really quiet in my room and you can do ALL your homework before you go to school. That sounds like a good idea, right?" Well, she won the argument. I could tell she had given it some thought. How could I resist such an articulate perspective? We got loaded up and ready to go. The Ziemann's were also able to come and play on short notice, so off we went to explore and run amok.

Natalie post face painting
Josie after her face painting. Denise put the heart on her face, but Josie did the green triangle. She was VERY proud of her triangle and did NOT want to wash it off before bed that night

Ahh...the Master at work....
We had a lot of fun at the museum, as we always do. The girls thought it was super cool to have their friends with though. I think we may have set a new standard.....

Graduation Day

May 19, 2008

The day finally came to gradaute! We were able to bring 3 people, so Scott, Josie and my mom attended the ceremony. There were tons of graduates this year, seems like quite a few more than the last time I did this (2000). We were able to sit with whomever we wanted, so I was able to sit with my classmates.

There are 16 people in our class, but we are the brae few who attended- although, we lost Brenda as we exited the building....

Marilyn, Sam, Gail, Deka & I. We have all survived, somehow!
The weather was beautiful, not too hot or too cold. A memorable day-

As requested

Someone requested a belly shot to see how I am progressing.....As evidenced by the photo, I am progressing at a rapid rate. This photo was taken yesterday, I am 24+ weeks. I am pleased to report that the swelling has taken residence and after a busy day I had tree trunks for ankles. (the polka dots on my socks left polka dot dents on my legs) Beyond that, things are going great. I have accepted that I will continue to grow at a rapid rate, and that I will not be a lot of fun to be around in July & August (just a little forewarning!) Hope you all have a great Mother's Day with those you love!!

Mommies Group

May 9, 2008

Here is a photo of the elusive Mommies Group. Many of said mommies will be reading this, but to those who don't know us.....Left side: Kelly, Denise & Nikki....Right side: Tammie, Tanya, Tammy. Missing: LEISL! I swear it might be impossible to get a photo of all 7 of us. In her defense, she is working on her Master's Degree, so time is a high commodity!
I think I will bring my camera next month too and keep my fingers crossed!!
We Mommies meet once a month for dinner and wine and conversation. Family updates, job frustrations, and maybe a little husband discussion :) We have a good time and almost always have good food. Our Mommies Group has been meeting for over 3 years. It is hard to believe how fast the time goes by!

Sisters. Hugging. Hmmm.. Our two girls are not affectionate with one another. Hugging...hardly ever, especially not on command! Scott was out of town, and Natalie was REALLY missing her daddy so we took a few pictures to email him. What I was most surprised about is how big they look. Dressed in clean clothes, AND I did their hair...all on the same day. Anyways, I am so amazed at how old Natalie looks in the top photo, especially when it is bigger. Here are our wo beauties.

Time Out

After running a few errands this morning, the girls and I packed a picnic and walked to the neighborhood park. Josie rides her bike and Natalie slowly walks, soaking in each and every thing lying on the ground, floating thru the air or making noise. The girls had lots of fun swinging and sliding and running around. While we were there, the helicopter was doing the annual mosquito spraying, so he was circling over our heads. (he was spraying over the wetlands, not over us!!) The girls thought that was pretty super fantastic too.

AHHHHHHHHHHH!

May 2, 2008

6.5 weeks to go! No, not for my beloved pregnancy, for SCHOOL! I AM DONE IN 6.5WEEKS! AHHHHHHHHH! For all of you who have endured the complaints, the missed phone calls and the canceled outings....I AM ALMOST DONE!!!! I was just looking at the calendar a moment ago, and realized just how close the end really is......While I do have a gi-normous project to finish before the time is up, just knowing it is almost over......OBLIVION! (check back next week when I am freaking about the project!)
I graduate in two weeks, and that is crazy too. however, the closer it comes, the less I want to sit in a hot auditorium, probably needing to tinkle and listening to person after person drone on and on. Plus, as Tammie pointed out, we won't be there together (as we were when we graduated with our Associate Degrees in 2000) Most of our time during the graduation ceremony was spent admiring how sparkly our new engagement rings were...tee hee hee. Memories!
I am just so excited that the end is in sight. I can't believe it!!!
