I'm BACK!!

June 24, 2008

The chaos...I will clean it up before Scott gets home....
A years worth of calendar pages, and a couple for the girls too!

A good mom would be posting about her 5 year olds success in riding her two wheeler. I am bursting with pride, and for those who were there Sunday evening when she went cruising the first time, you saw the tears in my eyes!! That being said, I want to talk about scrapbooking. Another true love of mine.....

Yesterday for the first time in a year, I went to Archivers and bought a couple things to get back into the groove of scrapbooking. Thank goodness the girls were along for the trip, or there is no telling how much I would have spent!

At work we make these same calendar pages for the babies we care for. I think that they are such a great idea. I had every intention of doing the same thing for Natalie, but by that time, I already had a different calendar, blah, blah, blah. So...I made a full years worth for the baby to be. Gender neutral and ready to record the moments of his/her life!!
Why am I blogging all this? Because I packed my things away almost a year ago. I put them in the basement and walked away because of school. Because it feels great to be creative. When I called Inge to tell her I went to Archiver's she said "YOU'RE BACK!" I guess I am.
Thanks for reading. I will post more photos of my cute kids soon-

ps....who wants to scrapbook????

WOO HOO!

June 17, 2008

It's official. I just turned in the very last paper for my Bachelors Degree to be complete. Although I still have class in 2 hours. I am done. No more papers, no more presentations. DONE. Finito. Complete. Relief.
Oh, it feels so good!

29 weeks

June 12, 2008

Do you know what that means....11 weeks to go! That isn't very long!.......this baby is coming soon! With school wrapping up, I am finally able to get excited about baby coming! I still think this is a baby boy. The magic crystal at work also said boy, and just about every other thread/item hanging over belly test that has been done thus far. No, we have not opened the envelope.
This picture was taken last night at my college graduation party at St. Kate's.

Josie turns FIVE!

Josie chose to go to the Aliens Restaurant for her birthday lunch. I had class the on her birthday, and because we were giving our final presentations, I was unable to skip the night! Scott took a half day off and we had lunch and played in the arcade. Josie got a free sundae and some alien antennae, no singing! Both of the girls had a fun time. Scott and I did our best to waste money, I mean, earn tickets so they could get some super cool , will be forgotten in days, prizes.....
Josie blowing out the candles on her cake.
Cake....she picked out a princess crown cake. Due to the insanity of the days preceding her birthday, we weren't sure we'd get it done. I will preface with this....the cake in the magazine WAY NICER. That being said, Scott and I baked, rolled, cut, sprinkled, decorated and built this cake together. Josie was pretty excited, but she did ask to see the magazine, and she did point out many of the things that were not the same.... either way, mad props to my husband for all his participation in cake making this year!
Mariposa...has she invaded your house yet? Beware......

A big day for me! I cannot believe our little girl is FIVE. Somehow this year seems like such a big deal. A big milestone I suppose. She is getting smarter and funnier and braver everyday. We love her so very much! Happy Birthday Josie!

Birthday Party

This year we had a small, family party for the girls celebration. Josie wasn't so sure about this plan, as she has always had her friends with her to celebrate. We had Nana's and Papa, Auntie Penny, Uncle Charlie, Jake & Eric. Just enough chaos on top of everything else that was going on! The girls had fun eating cake and opening gifts!

Josie was sure to let us know she was not 5 YET. Her special day was yet to come, but I think she had fun too!
Sidebar on the cake....I had made a cake, but it was not looking to pretty or delicious...I made a trip to Costco 15 minutes before the party to grab this cake for the girls......crisis averted!

I'm THREE!!!

June 1, 2008

Ready for a long post? Lots of photos to come! Here the girls are for their obligatory photo with the turtle....We had just spent a long time admiring the "mingos" and we off to see what else was ahead....let me also add, we had been at the zoo for 10 minutes and had already been asked when we would be going on the rides.......

Tea Cups. Josie loves the Tea Cups. We thought for a minute that Natalie might one barf on the ride because Josie had it spinning so fast, but every one survived and they were both full of smiles!

Natalie thought she was pretty fancy driving the cars, without anyone helping/bossing her.
How old are you? THREE!! Scott had told Natalie that when she woke up she would be three. When I went in to say good morning to her she said "I'M THREE!!!" Very exciting stuff for a little girl!
I thought I better include at least ONE animal photo, as we were at Como Zoo

Birthday Princess! She was patient all day, eye ballin' that cake...waiting until after dinner. She was very excited when the singing started, and even sang Happy Birthday herself!
I have to believe that a rainbow on your birthday is a good sign for the year to come! Amidst dinner, cake and presents we had severe weather warnings......but it all ended calm and colorful!
Oh so tired after a long day at the zoo. Scott tried to take the sucker out of Natalie's hand.....although she was sleeping, she gripped it harder. When he stopped grabbing she switched hands so he could not get it. Rather hilarious!
This was the one meltdown of the day. Natalie did NOT want to get out of the fire engine and the tear ensued! Scott had to pry her out of the truck at the end of the ride.....it was the end of the day.....
Swings! I had to bribe Josie to give the swings a try! She was scared. I am not a briber....but I told her that if she hated the ride, I would take her to the store to buy her a new toy.....she loved it and they both rode it a second time!

The end to a good day! Natalie got the stroller she wished for! She was such a great girl all day! We had lots of fun celebrating together. Jake and Eric also joined us for dinner, cake and presents! The girls had lots of fun playing with them.
