Warm, Sunny, Snow Day

March 11, 2008

Can it be true? One picture? Two kids? Both smiling? HA! Success AT LAST!

Well today was a long over due day in the snow. the girls have really wanted to get out there, but it seems that the days we were all home together, it was a bit too chilly....you know, subzero. Today was the day. When the thermometer was reading 32 degrees at 8am, that was a good sign.

The girls had fun chipping ice, shoveling snow and playing on their play set in the backyard. Today was just a perfect day to play in the snow!

Carousel Ride

Natalie holding on. She was not nearly as certain about all of this as Josie was!

Josie was so excited about the carousel! She had a bit of a disappointing day, so this definitely brightened things up for her. We were supposed to hit the Children's Museum after Natalie's follow-up at Gillette's. Well, when we got to the parking ramp for the Children's Museum, the entrance as blocked and the sign stated the lot was full. This was a bad sign for me, as if the ramp is THAT full, so is the museum. So I told her we could go do something else fun. Since 3 of the outfits she tried on that AM did not fit (I SWEAR she grew overnight!) We went to go get her a couple new things to wear as a stop gap until summer.
When we got to Maplewood, she spotted the carousel right away. Once we we finished with the business part of the trip, we went for a ride on the carousel. Josie had so much fun, and Natalie seemed to have a more take it or leave it feel about the whole thing. Either way, Josie had a blast, and said her classic line "Mommy, it makes my tummy giggle!"
And that makes it all worth it, right?

News?

March 6, 2008

Well, since most of the people who read this know already, it isn't THAT big of news....We are having a baby this summer. The official date of expected arrival is August 28, 2008. Now, when this little creature will arrive is anyone's guess. Josie was a week early. Natalie 5 days late. I think we should start a babypool!
Since divulging the news, the most common question "Will you find out what you're having?" To this I answer "we're not sure" We do not NEED to know. Although inquiring minds do want to know! Today I think it is a boy. Well, really I have thought it is a boy for a while now. That being said, let me remind everyone that I was CERTAIN Natalie was a boy. So let's not plan on my intuition! No matter what, I am getting more and more excited as the weeks tick by. With as busy as we are, the weeks are ticking by quickly I might add.
Today I am 15 weeks, and I think, WHOA, time is movin'! Not to many people 15 weeks isn't far, but it is!
Anyhow. This is what we know today. The girls are excited. During breakfast last week Josie asked me "When you are eat, does the baby get your food too so it can grow?" Wow. What a smart little thing. I think that is a pretty big concept for a little brain to come up with. (I can be in awe of my own kids!) So we talked all about the baby growing and eating. Natalie just points to my belly and talks about the baby being in there and getting bigger and that mommy has a baby in her tummy, but daddy does not have a baby in his tummy. It is a lot of fun to see their brains wrap around the concept.
That's all I got for you. Thanks for reading!

Josie & Barbie, a love affair

January 16, 2008

Josie was so excited about her Barbie house that Santa brought. She has spent many, many hours arranging furniture and getting Barbies many, many, many microscopic accessories organized. It was a nice activity for Josie and Nana Tess to do together at the table!!

Christmas Breakfast

Natalie has turned into a little chef. Whenever I am cooking, she grabs a chair and demands to assist! Although it is super cute, it does make it hard to keep track of what has been added....I am certain I miss or double ingredients on a regular basis! Either way, for the most part, we both have fun.....

Merry Little Christmas

Well here we are after a long delay! Things have been insane around here and I thought it was high time I get some photos online!
Christmas was so much fun this year. The girls got so excited about Santa's visit and their gifts he left for them. It was also nice that my mom was staying with us, as she got to enjoy their glee when they woke up Christmas Morning!
After the buzz from Santa wore off, Natalie and I made breakfast and then we opened gifts. Natalie climbed under the tree to retrieve gifts! Pretty darn funny. All other gifts paled in comparison to the Barbie House Santa left for Josie. She was a good sport, but she was itching to playing Barbies as she suffered through opening her other gifts!
We had a really great Christmas!

Big Brave Girl

November 13, 2007

What an adventure we had last night! After Josie played with Raegan last week, she declared "I want to get my ears pierced!" So we decided we would go on Tuesday after preschool. We have had this talk many times, but she typically says "No! No! I'm not ready!" So last night I asked again and she said, "LET'S GO NOW!" So the whole family packed up and went to Claire's for a little ear piercing adventure! Note how excited she is before they started!
One ear done, one to go. So sad! She did great, but it hurt a little more than she expected
All done! A content girl with her sucker! She picked out Pink flower earrings. (A little hard to see with the super red ear) But she is so proud! She carried her bag with her cleaner out and was so excited to get home and clean them! She woke up this morning and admired herself in the mirror and her pretty ears!!! So much fun! When we asked Natalie if she wanted her ears pierced, she said "No, I scared" So maybe we will do this again in a couple years!
